Information from River and Canal trust.
- First canal design in England by James Brindley (1716-1772)
- Nottingham canal open in 1796
- Main use was for cotton and coal
- The design of the canal is simple so that people that couldn't read can use it
- The canal was WWI and WWII to transport gun powder
- The water flow toward the train station
- around 200/300 years ago they was 5000 miles of canal in England, now a day only 2000 miles remain
- Wild life is composed of different types and ducks, fishes and otters
